The Purpose of Baby Dedications

1) To thank God for this gift of new life as a church family (Psalm 127:3-5)

2) To recognize that ultimately this child is God’s on loan to the parent

3) To celebrate the commitment made by parents to raise their child in the ways of the Lord

(Prov 22:6; Duet 6:6-9; Eph 6:4)

4) To put on display our sense of community in all areas of life

5) To introduce the child to the church

6) To get the whole church praying for the child and the family

7) To demonstrate the value God puts on children (Psalm 127:3-5; Mark 10:13-14)

8) To help people understand the biblical treatment of infants

9) A good harvest opportunity
