Making the Most of Easter

Social media has it’s advantages…one of which is coming across the random good idea. Recently, I came across these tweets from Mars Hill Church in Seattle, WA with some great ideas on how to make the most of Easter from an evangelistic perspective. Here they are:

  1. Pray for those in your sphere of influence (friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc) who need Jesus
  2. Invite those in your sphere of influence to an Easter Service (check out www.jubileestl.org for service times)
  3. Offer to either drive the people you invite or take them out to eat after service
  4. Volunteer at a local shelter and

As the year winds down, I thought it would be good to bring back to our attention

The elders of Jubilee consider it a pure joy and a privilege to be able to speak into your life through preaching and through this blog (which we hope you find valuable). It’s a responsibility that we don’t take lightly and we’re so thankful for all of you who take the time to read it.

Since there are many of you who are new to the church or just new to blog, I thought it would be good to catch you up on … [Read the rest of this post]

Update on Kenya Crisis

As a part of the Gift Day Offering, Jubilee wants to help raise money for our Newfrontiers brothers and sisters in Kenya. Today, we are mailing a $5,000 check as Newfrontiers churches across the globe are also making donations. I wanted to update you on what’s happening there in the words of Edward Buria who is the apostolic leader of our churches there.

My Dear Friends,

Am sure you are in receipt of my latest report on the ongoing Drought/Famine Crisis being experienced in Kenya and a number of Countries in the Horn of Africa. Further to that report, I … [Read the rest of this post]

Why Gift Day

The church is forward moving. It’s on the offense and not the defense. Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Against what? Against forward movement of the church that we all get to participate in.

We are meant to move forward as a church. From the beginning of time, we were meant to “be fruitful and multiply.” (Genesis 1:27) While in exile in Babylon, the people of God where commanded, “….do not decrease.” (Jeremiah 29:7) Jesus tells us that if we remain in the vine, we will “bear much fruit.” … [Read the rest of this post]

Encouragements From Bryan to Jubilee

This week is a MASSIVE week for two reasons: 1) it’s week of prayer and 2) it’s the week of Easter. In light of that, I have a few encouragements for you.

1.    Remember that the tomb is empty, which means HIS victory is OUR victory. You have been set free from your sin and what entangles you from moving forward in Jesus. In light of that, let’s invite people to our Easter Celebrations with a spirit of celebration and boldness versus pessimism and defeat. We win because HE WON!

2.    Let’s be honest, sharing Christ with someone and/or inviting … [Read the rest of this post]

Week of Prayer

We have an amazing gift in the ability to pray. We can talk, thank, sing to, and honor the God of all the universe, the God who created everything! And not only can we communicate to Him, He promises to communicate back to us! When we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. And what could be better than being close to the Creator of all things? This Jubilee Church gathers for our week of prayer. It’s not the only time we pray for sure, but it’s a week where we set aside everything else we … [Read the rest of this post]

Why You Should Go To Mobilise

I recently read a study that said there are 450,000 people in the St. Louis area between the ages of 18-29, and less than 1% of them are engaged in church life. My heart sank as Judges 2:10 quickly came to mind, “…And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord…” It only took Israel the span of a generation to go from the glory days of Joshua to doing “evil in the sight of the Lord.”

The gospel moves from one town to the next (Acts 1:8), and it is also meant to … [Read the rest of this post]

The James Series

At Jubilee Church, we love digging into the God’s word, the Bible. Starting this Sunday (October 3) at our St. Louis City location, and the following Sunday (October 10) at our Washington and Wentzville locations we will begin taking an in depth a look at the book of James through our this new sermon series. We also have several action tracks that will be studying the book of James.
