God Isn’t Panicking

Outside of possibly money, I think the most difficult thing to trust God with is our future. We all live with a present set of circumstances (employment status, bank account balance, bills, debt, economic outlook, etc), and we imagine a certain future that often times causes us to worry.

However, have we ever considered that our future really isn’t our future, but is only a perceived future? An imagined future? A possibility?

Now with God, the future is the present. He knows how the story is going to end. He’s all powerful, all knowing and loves you deeper than anyone has loved you before and He’s not panicking. He’s not wondering how it’s all going to work out because He knows.

So why doesn’t he change our circumstances? Why doesn’t He do something about our menacing outlook? Because He is using our present circumstance (good or bad) to mold us and shape us into the image of His Son (Rom 8:28-29). If He took away the circumstances, He would take away the good that He’s working into your life. God knows you. He knows your frame. If you learn to trust Him, He will always bring to you your perfect present to take you into His perfect future and it’s better than you could ever imagine.

God is in the future and He is preparing it for you through your present circumstance.
